WARNING: I'm about to show you what must surely be the least lovely pictures I've ever shared on Modern Country Style! This is how our family room looked when we very first viewed our new house, when it was still in its former life as a very grotty kitchen...

And here's what it looked like shortly after we moved in...

{yes, that is an arcade machine...Mr Modern Country can be very persuasive!!!!}

This was shortly after we ripped out the old kitchen and the laminate flooring and wondered if we'd bitten off more than we could chew!

{never fear, this story has a very happy ending!!}
